20 Years of NPZ UK – Breeding Success for British Agriculture
Norddeutsche Pflanzenzucht Hans-Georg Lembke KG is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its UK subsidiary.
Founded in 2005 as LS Plant Breeding Ltd. and operating as NPZ UK since 2024, the company based in Impington near Cambridge focuses on breeding and marketing winter oilseed rape, legumes, and wheat for the British market.
To mark the occasion, NPZ UK hosted a field day in June, welcoming partners, traders, and farmers to tour trial plots and attend expert talks. Key highlights included progress in clubroot resistance (e.g. with the variety CRUSOE) and strong-performing pea and field bean varieties such as PANGEA, MIDORI, and LYNX.
With varieties offering vitality, disease resistance, and reliable yields, NPZ UK supports British agriculture in meeting current challenges – from tighter crop protection regulations to growing demands for quality and sustainability.
